Shaft Condition Monitoring
Avalon Bearings offers a service to plan and implement Shaft Condition Monitoring for a classed vessel. Using a proprietary approach based off our knowledge of materials, class society rules, and bearing design, we are able to take advantage of the extended tail shaft withdrawal intervals laid out by LR, DNV GL, and ABS.
By reducing the frequency of tail shaft removals for the purposes of inspecting, you the customer can reduce the:
- Risk of damage to tail shaft
- Risk of damage to power train assembly
- Ship dry dock times
- Cost of dry docking
- Risk of pollution resulting from oil leakage
